The application provides a native app experience optimized for MacOS but can also be built and used on Windows and Linux. The core functionality of Bedrock Engineer revolves around its autonomous AI agents that support software development processes. These agents can perform file system operations like creating folders, writing to files, reading multiple files including Excel files, listing directory structures, moving and copying files. They also have web search capabilities through the Tavily API and can fetch website content with support for various HTTP methods and custom headers. Users can select from predefined agents such as a Software Developer, Programming Mentor, and Product Designer, or customize agents by defining their name, description, and system prompts to tailor their behavior and tool usage. The tool customization feature allows setting specific tools available to each agent, enhancing flexibility and control.
