LiteFlow is a high-performance, modern rule engine framework written in Java, designed for orchestrating complex, componentized business logic. It provides a unified component model and supports various rule definition formats like XML, JSON, and YML. The framework allows for dynamic and flexible orchestration of both synchronous and asynchronous processes, with support for nested rules and multi-language scripting (Groovy, Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Python, Lua, etc.). A key feature of LiteFlow is its elegant hot refresh mechanism, enabling instantaneous rule updates without application restarts, even under high concurrency. It boasts wide compatibility across Spring Boot, Spring, and other Java frameworks, supporting JDK 8 to JDK 25 and virtual threads. Rules can be stored and loaded from various sources, including databases, Nacos, Etcd, Zookeeper, Apollo, and Redis. Since v2.16.0, LiteFlow has extended its capabilities to integrate AI Agents as first-class orchestratable components. It wraps a full ReAct Agent into a standard LiteFlow component, allowing developers to orchestrate AI with existing business nodes using the same familiar operators (THEN, WHEN, IF, SWITCH, FOR). This enables complex multi-agent collaborations and decision-making processes, connecting to mainstream LLM platforms and offering features like multi-turn conversation memory and a Skills system. LiteFlow aims to simplify the development of flexible and robust systems by making complex business choreography and AI integration more manageable.
