OpenHands/OpenHands
OpenHands is an AI-powered platform that automates software development tasks, enabling developers to code less and produce more by modifying code, running commands, browsing the web, and integrating APIs efficiently.
Beads is a command-line interface (CLI) tool designed to provide AI agents with a persistent and structured memory, overcoming the limitations of traditional markdown-based planning. It functions as a distributed graph issue tracker, leveraging Dolt, a version-controlled SQL database, for its backend. This enables features like cell-level merging, native branching, and built-in synchronization, crucial for multi-agent and multi-branch workflows. The project aims to optimize agent performance by offering JSON output, dependency tracking, and auto-ready task detection. It introduces hash-based IDs to prevent merge conflicts and incorporates 'memory decay' through semantic compaction, summarizing old tasks to efficiently manage context windows. Beads supports hierarchical task IDs for managing epics and sub-tasks, facilitating complex project management. Key features include messaging with threading, graph links for defining relationships between tasks (e.g., `relates_to`, `duplicates`), and various installation modes (embedded or server) to suit different environments. It provides commands for creating, updating, claiming, and linking tasks, as well as for storing and retrieving project memories. Integrations with popular agent platforms like Claude Code and Codex are available, with mechanisms to onboard unsupported agents. Beads is designed to be installed once and used across multiple projects, enhancing agent collaboration and maintainability.
