Infio-Copilot is an Obsidian community plugin that brings a Cursor-style AI assistant into a personal knowledge vault. It is written in TypeScript and installs from the Obsidian community plugin browser, after which the user supplies an API key for a model provider. Supported providers include SiliconFlow, OpenRouter, Alibaba Bailian, DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and Groq, so the plugin stays provider-neutral and runs on whichever account the user already has. The core interaction is chat and edit: the user selects text or a note, asks for help, and applies the suggested change with a single click without leaving the editor. Autocomplete offers context-aware continuations while typing, and inline editing rewrites passages in place inside the current file. Beyond a single note, vault chat lets the assistant answer using the whole vault, and vault search uses semantic embeddings rather than literal string matching. Recent releases ship a default local embedding model, bge-micro-v2, so semantic features work without configuring an external embedding service. Workspaces group projects, research and personal notes so context stays scoped and the user can switch between setups. The Insights feature synthesises information across notes to surface connections. Multi-dimensional queries, including Dataview-style queries, let the user filter by time, tasks and other metadata. A rebuilt Write mode provides a distraction-free drafting experience. Users can define custom commands for repeated actions and custom modes that give the assistant specific behaviour and constraints. Model Context Protocol integrations can be managed from the plugin, letting the assistant call external MCP tools alongside vault operations. Recommended hotkeys bind adding a selection to chat and inline editing. The project requires a recent Obsidian installer version and is aimed at note-takers and researchers who want agentic assistance over their own Markdown knowledge base.
