Manifold is a comprehensive platform designed to enable workflow automation through the use of AI assistants. It supports a wide range of AI capabilities including text generation, image generation, and retrieval-augmented generation. The platform integrates seamlessly with popular AI endpoints such as OpenAI, llama.cpp, Apple's MLX LM, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, ComfyUI, and MFlux, providing users with a versatile and powerful toolset for AI-driven automation. One of the standout features of Manifold is its robust semantic search capability, which leverages PGVector combined with the SEFII (Semantic Embedding Forest with Inverted Index) engine. This allows for efficient and effective document ingestion and retrieval, enabling AI assistants to access relevant information as reference during task execution. The platform supports ingestion of files, folders, and even outputs from large language models (LLMs). Manifold also offers advanced features such as parallel inference across multiple AI providers, a powerful ReAct Agent with access to Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for autonomous task execution, and support for image generation and vision models. Image generation is supported via ComfyUI on multiple operating systems and MLXFlux on MacOS. Vision capabilities include support for OpenAI and local vision models like Gemma-3. The platform includes a web code editor with a WASM sandbox for safe code execution, as well as a Docker sandbox for running code in Python, Go, and JavaScript with third-party library support. Additionally, it features a WebGL node for prototyping shaders. Manifold provides nodes to control workflow execution, allowing users to run concurrent agents, jump between nodes, execute loops, combine context, and publish/subscribe to topics for context sharing. This flexibility enables the creation of complex, automated workflows. The platform is under active development and is not yet intended for production use. It requires several prerequisites including Chrome browser, Python 3.10+, Docker, Go 1.21+, and Node.js 20+. Installation can be done via pre-built binaries or from source, with detailed setup instructions provided. Default authentication credentials are provided but users are strongly advised to change them immediately for security. Overall, Manifold is a powerful and flexible AI workflow automation platform that integrates multiple AI models and services, supports advanced document retrieval and code execution, and offers extensive control over workflow execution, making it suitable for developers and organizations looking to build sophisticated AI-driven automation solutions.
