Awesome AI Agents › MCP Server Framework
wigolo is a local-first web toolkit for AI agents, distributed on npm and run as an MCP server, a REST endpoint or an embedded SDK. It gives an agent one surface for search, fetch, crawl, extract, cache, find-similar and research operations, plus autonomous gather loops, and it runs wherever the agent runs. Setup is a single npx init command that downloads a browser engine and on-device models, runs a health check and reports the state of each component; the same command can wire named coding agents in one pass, with built-in support for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed and Antigravity, while any other MCP client or framework such as LangChain, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, the Vercel AI SDK or n8n registers the package in its own MCP configuration. Docker, Homebrew and single-file binary channels are also documented. The core tools need no API keys and nothing they touch leaves the local wigolo directory, so cost does not scale with how much the agent thinks; a doctor command checks health and an uninstall flag removes everything. Only the research and agent tools and answer-formatted search call an LLM to synthesize a cited answer, and without a key they return a raw brief plus evidence for the calling agent to assemble; any provider can be configured, including a fully local Ollama or OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Results are returned as structured evidence rather than prose: each hit carries a verbatim excerpt, a byte-exact source span, a citation identifier the agent can quote, a freshness signal, and a score broken into semantic, lexical and engine-consensus components. The project is in public beta under the AGPL-3.0 license and requires Node 20 or newer with about 1.5 GB of free disk.
